It's Fall, Ya'll!

It's pumpkin pickin' day! We changed it up a bit this year and headed over to Hickory Nut Gap Farms where they have pumpkins, corn mazes, animals and all kind of things that are fun. We told Luke that we were going pumpkin picking today and he was so excited. The thing about Luke is that when he gets super excited, he gets into the zone and has a super hard time listening, so that was fun. Ha! It was a little overwhelming because there were so many fun things so we had a few meltdowns although I'm not sure the pictures will reflect that.

We went with the Creggers this year and Luke and Josie had so much fun running through the corn maze. We tried to get them to stop and answer the trivia questions but they were too fast running from  one number to the next. After the corn maze we all picked out our pumpkins. They have a patch but it's more like they just put some pumpkins in the grass for you to choose from. HA! It was still so beautiful out there and it was a nice, cool, foggy morning.

After we picked out our pumpkins we headed back across the street where we saw baby chicks, pigs, goats and Luke rode on the slide and bicycles. We did have a minor meltdown to ride on the kiddie cars so we shelled out another $3 to do that!

Afterwards we went and had lunch at the Local Joint where I was afflicted with yet again, another migraine. The doctor this week said that they're probably due to less sleep, too much caffeine and stress. Ya think? I took my medicine that he prescribed and after that and a nap I feel somewhat better. Man, those things are a real day ruiner.

Even though that kind of stunk, we had a great day with the Creggers before baby Silas arrives in a few weeks! We talked at lunch about how much crazier it will be when we try to get out of the house and get together with 4 babies instead of 3 and I think we all agreed to try and do more stay at home get togethers. Ha!

We love fall! <3

This slide was FAST. And Luke loved it!

He's always picking me little flowers. Such a sweet boy to his mama.

Josephine!

A touch of fall

Josie's found her pumpkin!

It was difficult to get them all to look at the camera.

I think we should crop the Kestner kids out of this picture. Josie looks like a model here! Ha!

Sometimes I get a glimpse into the future as to what Luke will look like when he's older. It breaks my heart just a little. He doesn't have any baby left in his looks anymore. :(

Josie is going to be such a great big sister! She loves playing with Charlie

Laurie's pumpkin!

I've got the double chin thing going on here but I think it's funny.

Guitar baby!

Charlie's first time eating Chinese food. She was a fan.

Fire Pits and Fall

When we went to Nantahala a few summers ago, we all had a blast by building fires outside and roasting marshmallows. Luke still talks about that vacation and how much fun he had so we decided to put a fire pit in our backyard. Dillon researched and researched about the best way to put one in. We thought about buying a pre-fab one to put on the porch, but it looked like a big fire hazard so we decided not to go that way. Handy dandy Dillon decided he could build one, so he did! It only took him about an afternoon to get it done and we've already enjoyed 3 fires this week! I am a little terrified that we'll set the woods on fire around us but I make Dillon spray it down with water every time we're done. Ha!

The past few weeks have been pretty nice. October is the best month in our house with the leaves changing all around us. It is so beautiful so I'm glad that we're getting outside to enjoy it.

Last weekend while Dillon was putting in the fire pit, I was laid up with a terrible migraine. It was a real weekend ruin-er especially since last Sunday was one of the prettiest days of the year. I'll be going to the doctor soon to see if I can get some medication for it, but so far I've been using essential oils to see if that helps. Luke's also had some kind of weird rash with welts that keep popping up all over his body and disappearing as fast as they show up. We had an appointment with an allergist this weekend. We didn't do allergy testing, yet. We're trying to use allergy medication for awhile to see if that helps. Our weeks have been filled with doctors appointments so that's not much fun.

Yesterday, we celebrated the Cregger's new baby Silas with a little baby shower. We took the camera, but forgot to take pictures. It's hard to do when you're wrangling kids and catching up with folks you haven't seen in awhile! :) We're so excited for them and can't wait to meet him in a few weeks time!

Dillon and mine's 9th anniversary is coming up in a week or so and hopefully we'll get out to have dinner together. I think we have some pumpkin picking coming up on the calendar and Luke is VERY excited for that. Then Halloween is right around the corner, followed by Thanksgiving and Christmas. What a fun time of year!

Luke's ready for the camp fire!

Luke has good conversations over the fire. <3

Celebrating Halloween all month long!

Luke took this picture. I thought he did a pretty good job!

Full moon over Candler!

Hannah came over to make s'mores last night! We had fun telling sppooookky stories!

My grandma made this dress and doll for me when I was a baby. Charlie's just now fitting into it.
