St. Simons 2019!

We made it to the beach for our annual trip. Back in February when we found out that my mom was not terminally ill, we decided to take a trip together (something that she may regret now, ha!) We found a condo in St. Simons right on the ocean and booked it for a few days to get away.

Whew, traveling with little kiddoes is quite the adventure. One that will keep you on your toes all day and night. Mom and dad left last Wednesday with Lucas in tow to visit her brother and sister-in-law in Georgia. They stayed with them for 2 days and enjoyed some time visiting and then headed on down to the beach. Dillon and I were right behind them on Friday and we arrived within an hour of each other. It always seems to take the kids a few days to get acclimated and this time was no different. Even though there were some rough times, I think that they had a good time. There were some tears and  Charlie even got some salt water up her nose causing her to puke all over Dillon (HA!), but all in all it was fun.

We spent a lot of time at the beach and at the pool and then going out to eat. This will forever be the trip that Luke swam in the deep end without any floaties (a stark difference from 3 years ago when he wouldn't even go out in the water). He was quite the fish and quite independent.

Also, it was hotter than Hades down there. At least 95 degrees every day and feeling like it was over 100. I thought I would die. This mountain girl cannot take the heat and I'm so glad to be back in 75 degree weather. Dillon and I lit a candle on their porch Friday night and the flames didn't even move. That's how stagnant the air was.

Anyways, we've made it back to NC and another busy week faces us. Tomorrow Luke heads to Virginia to spend time with his Grammy and then Saturday we'll be celebrating Dillon's sister's new baby that's due to arrive in September! Sunday is promotion day at church and Luke moves up and gets a new Bible. He's now old enough to stay with us in church and not go into children's church, so we'll see how that all goes. HA! He still tends to get restless. And then it's the 4th of July and even more summer activities. Ya'll. I'm tired.

Anyways... I'm off to finish laundry. I have to have something to pack up for Luke's next trip!

Puddle Jumpin!

We saw a shark!

She loved the beach and running and the water!

I think this is my favorite picture from the whole trip... See the little head peaking out beside dad's right shoulder? That would be our froggie friend taking a picture!
