2017 Christmas Tree!

Our last day off has been jam packed with activities. From 5 loads of laundry, to grocery shopping, Christmas decorating, cooking, hiking in the woods and taking some 1st birthday pictures of Charlie. Oh, and lunch at my mom and dad's today. Whew. We've made as much of our last day off as we possibly could.

Yesterday evening, we went and picked up our Christmas tree. Every year we go back to the same family at the Farmer's Market that comes down from Madison Co. There's a Christmas tree farm in a nearby town and I thought about going there, but they sold out of all of their trees by Thanksgiving. Soooo... I'll just stick with what we know. One of the men who works there even remembered us and said "Wow, he's grown!" in reference to Luke.

We came home yesterday evening with the tree and ate some leftovers from Dillon's dad's house and then got the baby to bed and Luke, Dillon and I decorated the tree. Luke is so excited, he danced around singing Christmas music all evening and loved looking at the ornaments and the tree. His excitement spreads and where Dillon and I used to not get too into Christmas, now we're all about it. Next weekend, we get to go meet Santa Claus himself! Luke has his letter ready to take to him and he has signed his own name to it!

This week is busy, and we're back at it tomorrow. Dillon works his 16 hour day tomorrow. He's only got 2 more classes to teach and we're pretty happy about it. Ha! Dillon has really enjoyed teaching the class, but it is difficult for him to work those long days, to plan for the class and for him to be gone in the evenings. If he were to do it again, I'd be ok with it, but we'll take it either way! :)

We'll hang on until we get another long weekend for Christmas. We're all counting the days!

He was so excited!

I also got a pretty bit of greenery for our front door.
She was so excited, can't you tell?

My sweet mama.

Luke even got his tree in his room!

Baby's in bed, let's get to decorating!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving (a few days late!) We traveled to Virginia this year to spend the holiday with Dillon's family. We left early on Thursday morning, which is the best time to travel for Thanksgiving. You skip the mad rush on Wednesday and make it to your destination in plenty of time for dinner.

We spent Thanksgiving day with Dillon's extended family and his granny and ate huge amounts of food and had a great time with everyone! Thursday evening we were pooped and helped Dillon's daddy get everything ready for his little get together on Friday night.

Friday morning we hit up the WalMart in the nearby town with Mackenzie and finished up Christmas shopping and left with busted wallets. Ha! I always try to only get the kids 4 gifts but it's so hard to do! Anyways. I'm done now! Friday afternoon Dillon and I had professional pictures made and the kids were extremely good. Both kids were smiley and laughing and it made the photo session super quick.

We spent some more time with Dillon's granny that afternoon and then had a small, family party at his dad's house. We left early this morning and as I type Luke is waking up from his nap and we're getting ready to go get our 2017 Christmas Tree! :) Our house is wrecked, but I'm not cleaning until this is all done and we can get our house spiffy for Christmas! All of our weekends are booked from now to Christmas and I have a mental list of everything we have to do, so here's to the Christmas season!

Baby Indie!

And baby Charlie! They both had their first Thanksgivings!

Luke and his turkey shirt! What a mess that was. I didn't order him one and had ordered the baby one. I frantically got one off Amazon and paid extra for shipping. I guess UPS was delayed and it looked like it wouldn't get here on Wednesday and then Dillon and I were sitting on the couch at 8:45 on Wednesday night and here came the UPS man! Yeah!

Luke and his grammie.

He actually ate! He ate turkey and a roll. YEAH!
Charlie's gift from Libby. HA!

And Luke's shirt... :)

Uncle Jon-o

We went for a hike behind Dillon's Granny's house. They've built a cute little cabin there!

Luke got tired...

And Charlie stayed home and napped.

The Glasco girls. We all missed Glenda terribly this year.

Luke and his baby cousin!

Dillon really enjoyed his mom's soup.

Back at home, Granddad had his Christmas gifts delivered and we went ahead and opened them today!

And so it begins...
