Palm Sunday and Workin' All the Time

We're in the middle of what seems to be an extremely busy few days. I'm not sure why everything seemed to be scheduled all in the same 5 day period, but it sure did and, well, here we are. Yesterday, I helped out at the Live Well Expo, which was INSANE! There were so many people there. I helped out with one of the local hospitals and brought along some marketing materials to hand out and I gave out everything I had brought within the first 2 hours (That includes the 500 pens that have my cell phone number on them. Yeaaahh.) Dillon and my mom and dad were going to come out with the kids to look around, but after I saw how many people were there, it just gave me extreme anxiety to think about them trying to battle the crowds with the kids. I tried to text, but there were so many people in there, my texts wouldn't send. I had to hook up to the wifi to get an email out to Dillon not to come.

Today was another busy day at church, too! It was Palm Sunday so Luke got to walk in with the children waving palm leaves. They then had a really nice program for the kids where they got to play games and have lessons about Palm Sunday followed by a really good hot dog lunch and an Easter egg hunt! Oh, and we got to announce our VBS plans for the year, start our volunteer sign up and I took pictures for some families after church. WHEW! It was a whirlwind day, but so good and a lot of fun!

Tomorrow I'm working since the kid's daycare will be closed on Friday and Monday for Easter. I also have a dinner tomorrow evening for work, so I'm working late again. Dillon has jury duty in the morning, so my parents are helping us out and taking care of the kids tomorrow evening in case Dillon can't get there in time. Then Dillon has to work late Tuesday and I have to stay a little late on Wednesday for a conference call. I'll be VERY close to full time hours these two weeks.

We did squeeze in coloring Easter eggs this evening and we've got some easy meals in the fridge for the upcoming week. If we can just get through to Thursday I think we'll be ok (I mean I know we'll be ok, but we're just kind of tired right now, ha!)  I am looking forward to Easter next week and can't wait to take pictures of the kids in their pretty clothes. I've been wanting to get pictures the past few weeks, but the weather's either been too cold or we've been too sick. I'll be ready for some rest after this week, though!

Alllll the eggs! It had to be indoors today because of bad weather.

Last year poor Luke got hardly any eggs at all at a different egg hunt. This year his bucket overflowed! He said this year was waaayyy better!

Coloring eggs!

Charlie got to eat the busted eggs!

Family Weekend

A few weeks ago, Dillon's sister, Kenzie, texted me and said they were coming in to visit their parents and said they wanted to see us whether that meant coming to Asheville or us coming up to Virginia. We decided to head up the mountain because we hadn't been to visit since before Christmas and we were due a visit.

We headed up yesterday morning and had good visits with Dillon's family. The weather was supposed to be rainy all weekend, but somehow it cleared up and we had sunny skies with mid-60 temperatures. It was nice! Traveling with two little ones makes everything louder and more chaotic though. We broke about 3 bowls/plates/cups this weekend, spilled drinks, had spit up incidents and crying jags (and that was just the adults - just kidding). But all in all it was a fun weekend together.

Luke did get some good play time in with grammy's new puppy, Seamus and I think that they both wore each other out. When we left Dillon's granny's house today, Luke slept all the way until we got off the interstate here. I don't think he's ever done that before.

We are all a little tired this evening, but happy to be home. I do want to edit some of these pictures from this weekend, but I have unpacking to do and some couch sitting (and maybe napping) to do so it may be tomorrow before I get any editing done. So for now, I'll just share the regular photos.

We're thankful for our family and for safe travels. Until next time!

Playing in her room last weekend...

Seeing Granddad for the first time since Christmas!

And checking out the river...

Legos on his counter!

We love our cousin and auntie!

And, yes... that is a bruise. We took a tumble this week right into a table.
Babies!!

Pickin' up poo!

The best picture of the day. My attempt at photographing Seamus. He ran at me and nipped the camera! HAHA
