A few weeks after we had Charlie, we were delighted to find out that Dillon's sister, Kenzie, was expecting a baby sometime later in 2017 (August 2017 to be exact!) Both Dillon and I have been very excited to be an uncle and an aunt, especially since we'll get to partake in the spoiling and having fun and not so much the disciplinary actions that come with being a parent (Ha!)
This weekend Dillon's mom and I hosted a baby shower for Kenzie and Wally. All of the families that will support this new little one were in attendance and Kenzie and Wally were showered with love and gifts to welcome the new baby. We had a great time catching up with everyone and eating lots of good food.
Dillon and I also got to spend a good weekend in Southwest Virginia running around and seeing all of our old hangouts and riding down Route 11. We also got the kids' pictures taken with a baby calf yesterday and are excited to see the results of the photo shoot. Unfortunately, both kids were extremely grumpy after a busy day, but our photographer was great with them and hopefully got a few good shots.
While I'm glad to be home this afternoon, we've had a great weekend catching up with everyone! We can't wait to head up to Richmond over Labor Day to spend time with the new baby and to have a good weekend away!
