Quick Trip to Virginia

This weekend we took a quick trip to Virginia and visited with some of Dillon's family. It was a good trip, even if it was short and we are all extremely tired. We enjoyed some good food and good time with everyone!

Yesterday, I just wasn't feeling well so that was a little bit of a damper on my time, but it was still fun! We spent some time outdoors and Luke enjoyed playing with his Grammy & Russ. We went to visit with Dillon's granny and aunts and we enjoyed the pretty weather. Luke found a frog with Russ at his granny's house and then another frog at his Pappaw's house with Dillon.

We spent the evening at Dillon's house and enjoyed a good dinner and Luke played at the river and we saw the geese come into the river.

We woke up this morning and had some breakfast, visited with everyone and then made our way back to Asheville. I'm still feeling kind of poorly (c'mon, I'm 14 weeks on Tuesday, I thought I was supposed to be past this by now, but whatever. As long as the baby comes healthy, I'll gladly be sick) and my mom and dad have offered to cook us dinner this evening so we don't have to figure out what to eat. I've got laundry to catch up on and groceries to buy but I guess we'll get through the week one way or another.

Next weekend is the 4th so we have a nice, long weekend. I think I want to start organizing (I'm starting with Luke's room) and getting stuff out of his room that's for "little babies" and getting the baby's nursery started. We also talked about going to see fireworks, but Luke said he didn't like loud noises so I'm going to show him some videos and see if he wants to go. If not, we'll enjoy our time at home and hopefully have a relaxing weekend.

Luke helped Grammy & Russ make a cake...and clean up. He liked the bubbles! :)

I laid on the couch trying not to puke. Dillon just had to have a picture. :|

Reunited with his binoculars (or calculaters as Luke calls them). He got them for his birthday and we forgot them at Pappaw's house.

Father's Day 2016!

Happy Father's Day to Dillon, my daddy and my daddy-in-law today (and all the other dad's out there!) We've had a pretty nice weekend. The weather has been absolutely perfect and we've been to a birthday party, the pool, out to eat, grilled out, and took some pretty good naps. All in all a pretty successful weekend if I do say so.

Yesterday we celebrated our friend Dara's birthday. While her actual birthday is in January, it's hard to get everyone together and out to play so Dara's mama decided we should celebrate in the summer at Mills River Park with a cookout and playing on a great playground.

Today we celebrated Dillon with a trip to the pool and eating lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. We were going to go out with some friends until we realized Luke would miss his crucial nap and probably be in a mood all afternoon so we passed on the lunch with them. Luke is doing so well with swimming and his little puddle jumpers are awesome. Today we put the swimmies on him and before we could even get sunscreened he was swimming out towards the deeper end of the pool. It scares me for him to be around water, but I want him to get used to it. I'm thinking next summer we may do some swimming lessons to try and move away from the floaties.

Things are going well otherwise. I am tired and thought I was coming out of the "morning" sickness, but it has come back again and I still struggle to drink water and brush my teeth. Luke still insists on a baby sister and he now kisses my tummy and says "I love you baby". He likes to look at the bottles and talk about how we'll feed the baby warm milk and we've talked about where the baby will sleep when it comes. He can be misbehaving and I tell him that the baby doesn't like that and he immediately shapes up and comes and hugs me and kisses my tummy. I'll probably get a little baby doll for him so he can practice taking care of the baby. I hope that this lasts and he always loves his little brother or sister. Tomorrow is my monthly check up so I'm hoping all is well. I'll be 13 weeks on Tuesday so I'm hoping that my next appointment we'll be able to schedule the big scan and find out if our little one is a boy or a girl!

Once again, Happy Father's Day to Dillon, the best dad a kid could ask for. I know that Luke loves you so much. It's apparent by how much he wants to be with you and be like you. I'm so glad that we get to share in this craziness together and that Luke has a great man to look up to.

She thought it was super funny and danced while eating her sweet.

Silly Dillon

I feel like there's more of a belly from this angle, HA! Thanks for this one, Dill.

Photo bombed. Typical Luke.

Summer Vacation

Oof. Dillon and I are sad puppies tonight.

After our little trip to the cabin, we've enjoyed the rest of the week off at home and doing things around town. There's been a lot of eating out, some cooking at home and lots of naps and relaxing. It's been excellent and I think that may make going back to work tomorrow even harder than if we'd taken a big vacation.

We spent a few mornings at the pool at my mom and dad's. We gave Luke the option of the pool on Friday or a trip to the zoo and he chose the pool (which we were fine with, less driving and less expense.) Today, we celebrated Dillon's 30th birthday with grilled steaks and I made a Hershey bar cake for him. The cabin trip was part of the birthday celebrations so it's been nice all week for him!

We're all doing well and I worry about the transition back to school tomorrow. We've all stayed up past our bed time and slept in past 7:00 most mornings, which is now late for us. It's been great.

In pregnancy news, I'm 11 weeks pregnant on Tuesday and almost out of the first trimester. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and things were going well with a 175 heart rate for the baby and growing right on track. I've spent a few sick weeks and am coming out of the nasty fog for the most part. As of now, I waffle back and forth with food being repulsive and being starved and eating everything. There is no in between. We've started discussing names and have some strong contenders. Hopefully by the end of summer (meaning August) I'll pull the crib out and get the guest room turned into a nursery. If anyone is in need of a queen sized bed, we'll probably be giving one away to make room.

I wish that every week in the summer could be like the one we've had. I've enjoyed spending time with both Dillon and Luke with few stresses, but I guess it's back to the grind tomorrow.

Happy Sunday evening, all.

Pool time! Luke is a little swimmer now and has outgrown his fear of going in the "deep" water. He even swims a little bit!

Grillin' out with Ma and Peepaw after swimming!

10 weeks! Right now I look like I've had too many pieces of pizza (and feel like a busted can of biscuits) so I'm anxiously awaiting when I look more pregnant. Honestly, I don't even like posting the pictures of me, but soon I'll want to see them ( I guess. HA)

We also got to celebrate Baby Beckett's first birthday this week! She shares a birthday with Dillon and we were so glad to get to party with her!

Luke had so much fun at the party he didn't want to leave. Beckett's got some pretty sweet toys!

This little one LOVED her cake! It was the best! :)

A pretty leaf that Luke found on the porch.
