Father's Day 2014

We've had a busy start to our weekend with a trip to Virginia to visit family. We thought it would be a good idea to visit with everyone to celebrate Father's Day tomorrow. The past few weeks have been a little crazy, but good. We've been working every day and frantically looking for a riding lawnmower that Dillon won't kill himself on while mowing our huge hill.

Other than that, not much else has been going on. We've been enjoying our new home and peaceful neighborhood. Everyone is slowly adjusting to the new change. We're working now on painting the wood paneling in the basement and turning that into a music/tv/game room. We were on quite a roll with getting everything unpacked and then we went back to work and it all kind of stopped. It's hard to accomplish things with a 1 year old. One of us always has to be on defense while the other tries to get things done around the house. It'll be nice to have that extra space finished though, but no rush as we have plenty of room in the upstairs for now.

Today was a nice day visiting with family in Virginia. We really should get up there more often, but it seems like our days and weekends fill up with plans and promises quickly. We enjoyed visiting with everyone and being home for a little bit. Luke had a blast visiting with everyone and fell asleep in the car before we even got on the interstate and didn't even put up a fight to go to sleep when we got home.

I am personally thankful for all of the great father figures in my life. My own dad, Dillon and Eddie, my father-in-law, are all wonderful examples of great fathers. They love their children with everything they have  and I hope that Luke gets all of their best qualities when he is a grown man and daddy. He sure has some great guys to look up to.

My mom found a kids size broom that was mine when I was little. Luke loved it.

Happy Father's Day Grandpa!

Dip Dog Stand for lunch!

Down by the river looking at tadpoles and turtles!

Luke's started doing things that I'm just not ready for like sleeping on a cot at daycare instead of in a crib. He's also picking his nose. Say what?
