Day Out with Thomas the Train

Several months ago, I came across a link on the internet that talked about places across the country that Thomas the Train visits and takes passengers along for a ride. When I did a little further research, I found out that Thomas comes to Boone, NC at Tweetsie Railroad, just a short drive from Asheville!

I made sure our tickets were purchased and anxiously anticipated taking Luke because I knew how excited he would be. We made our way to Boone this weekend with a very hyper Luke who kept asking if we got to ride on Thomas Train.

We met my mom and dad there and enjoyed the day riding the train and saying hi to Thomas. We rode on little rail cars, too and enjoyed some barbecue for lunch. It got really hot towards the middle of the day and Luke was tired without having a nap all morning, so we headed back home.

It was so magical for Luke, though. Every time we saw Thomas he would yell out "Hi, Thomas!" Other than the large crowds, it was a fun time.

We spent today cleaning and organizing the house and took items to Goodwill. It's been super hot here, in the 90's, so we've tried to stay cool indoors. Here's to a fun summer week!

Seeing Thomas for the first time!

In the conductor hat he didn't want to wear!

So, epic fail. Luke wanted to steer, I was afraid we were going to go over the rails and we had a meltdown. We survived though, minus one toy truck that was lost in the mix.

My hair says it all :p
