Emotional Roller Coaster

Whew. I know that they say when you're pregnant that you're on a constant emotional roller coaster of emotions. One minute you're laughing uncontrollably and the next you're crying at that Pamper's commercial on t.v. talking about your baby growing up too quickly.

This weekend has been like that times a million. Dillon and I traveled to Virginia to be with our families after my Grandpa died on Tuesday. His services were set to be on Saturday so we had a few days to travel, visit and try and relax. My second baby shower was supposed to be on Saturday as well, so Dillon's family moved everything to Sunday to accommodate our new plans (and they did so well, as you'll see on the pictures.)

My aunt, Christine, was planning on coming to the shower on Saturday and since everything had happened last week, she decided to come and visit my mom and dad's house on Friday and have lunch with us. It was such a nice time visiting and just sitting around remembering happy memories. She also brought us a HUGE basket of goodies for the baby. Christine is supremely talented when it comes to sewing, she made Luke bibs, burp cloths, and receiving blankets. She also brought some books for his library and some new little outfits for him. It was like Christmas morning!

Saturday was Grandpa's services. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. It means so much to know that we were being thought about in a difficult time. It was a rough day indeed and will take many days, months, years to heal. We've spent time telling stories and looking at pictures, reminiscing about all the good times we've had together.

When we found out about my Grandpa's services, Dillon's family went into overdrive to re-plan it all. They were able to keep it the same weekend and they threw such a beautiful shower for us. We had about 30 people in attendance and were blessed with a good time with our families. We got lots of diapers, outfits and things to help us on our new journey as parents. Our entire back of the car is filled to the brim! Thank you guys again, it means so much!

Tomorrow I have a follow up doctor's appointment (I'm going every 2 weeks for awhile and then I have one EVERY week until Luke makes his appearance) and then Tuesday we have our 2nd labor and delivery class, which is a story in and of itself. Enjoy the pictures!
