5 Months & Day 1 of the Beach

Oh, how 5 months has gone by so quickly. Next month will be a whole half year since Luke has joined us and he is growing more every day. You'll see his 5 month photo below with all of his likes. We haven't weighed him this month, but I'm sure he's over 15 lbs as lugging his car seat around becomes more difficult every day. He's starting to sit up on his own and has started rolling over like crazy. He can't sit still when he's awake and always wants to be moving and seeing new things. He's eating more and more solids now which may add to his chunking up.

Last night, we arrived at the beach very, very late. We left after work yesterday around 6:00 and drove until 12:30. Luke was a champ and slept the WHOLE way. I couldn't believe it. I figured that I would need to hop in the back seat and entertain at some point but he didn't need me. When we arrived he woke up, and was happy but was just as happy to go back to sleep 10 minutes later.

We all woke up this morning and had breakfast and got ready to head down to the beach for Luke's first trip. He had his cute swimmie trunks on and had no clue what was waiting for him. We tried dipping his toes in the water, but he didn't really like it. The water was a little cold, but he always likes his bath time so I thought he would like splashing around. After the beach we went to Dairy Queen for lunch where Luke had some little bites of ice cream (shh, don't tell. :) ) and came back home for a nap. We walked around the little town and had an awesome dinner. We're in for the night and once the baby's asleep, we look forward to sitting on our screened in porch, relaxing for a few minutes.

I have to say, I know we're only taking 2 days off of work, but the mental vacation from thinking about things has been great. All we have to worry about right now is where we'll eat tomorrow!

5 months! I didn't have a chance to take good photos this month so these were taken in the morning before I dashed out the door for a 13 hour work day.

I took these today with my phone. It shows just how quick he's moving and I can hardly keep up with him!

This spider is outside our house at the beach and is HUGE. His brother lives around the side of the house. Gah.

The orange tree outside. Dillon actually had me convinced that limes are oranges before they turn orange. :p

Screened in porch, ahhhhh.

Pretty lights on the porch

We've arrived!
