Disney Day 3: Hollywood Studios

Today we spent the day at Hollywood Studios! We woke up early this morning and got a quick breakfast (and coffee... lots of coffee). We were on the bus by 7:20 and made it to the park right as it opened.

It was COLD today. Really cold. Last week when I started packing, I was looking for Luke's shorts and now I'm glad I couldn't find them because he needed his long pants and sweatshirts today. Last night when we got stuck in the rain, our shoes all got wet so all I had were sandals. We made it over to the park and promptly looked at places where we could go inside. Our first stop was trying to find where Mater and Lightning McQueen were hanging out. We were faced with disappointment when we learned that they had closed the meet and greet with them due to some renovations. I was sad that Luke wouldn't get to meet his favorite stars, but it was no big deal. There was a quick line to meet Donald Duck so we spoke with him real quick and got pictures.

Then we headed over to the Star Wars area where we got in line to meet Chewbacca. The lines were relatively short and after a quick wait, we were in the area to meet him. This character is like the real Chewbacca and is probably over 7 feet tall which can be intimidating to an almost three year old. We had a minor panic attack and Dillon took Luke out and I talked with Chewie for awhile.

After that, we walked around the park for awhile taking in the sights and seeing what we might want to do later. We then got to watch Disney Junior's puppet show. Luke didn't want to meet any of the characters afterwards so we headed to our lunch reservations at 50's Prime Time Cafe. It was a lot of fun and the food was tasty.

Luke's favorite part of the day was the Lights Motor Action show. He was so excited to see the cars run fast and listen to the tires squeal. We did get to see Lightning run a small show in the middle of this one and it was pretty exciting. We filed out of the show and went over to the Muppets Movie and Luke thought the 3D glasses were funny and loved it when the stuff jumped out at him.

We came back to the room after that to try and rest, but Luke wasn't down for napping today. We hung out here for a little bit and played on the playground right outside our room then traveled over to Bahama Breeze for dinner near the Orlando Civic Center.

I was really sad that Luke hadn't got to "meet" Lightning McQueen because he was so excited for it, so on the way back from dinner we stopped off at the Arts of Animation resort. The have a whole Radiator Springs area with all the cars from the movie and the Cozy Cone Motel. It was really cute and I think if we ever come back I'd like to stay over there. Plus it seems like most of the families there had kids our age.

Tomorrow is our last day here! We start off the day at Chef Mickey's for breakfast with Mickey Mouse and all of his friends. From there we travel to the Animal Kingdom to see "Lion Guard" as Luke puts it and all of the cool stuff they have to offer. I am so tired tonight, but will keep pressing on! Dillon may have a very quiet trip home on Tuesday! :)

There are all kinds of cars around this park and that was by far Luke's favorite part.

He WAS pretty scary actually...

Jawas walking around... also creepy.

Storm Troopers questioned Dillon... Luke thought he was really in trouble and started screaming crying :-\

So cold.

Lunch at the 50's Prime Time Cafe where we had a tv at our table, but we couldn't put our elbows on the table and we had to say our Pleases and Thank Yous.

Mom - recognize the dishes in the middle ;)

The man of the hour!

He had fun, I swear.

Luke started talking last summer about going to "See Mickey Mouse on a plane with Mickey Mouse"... well there's your plane!

We told Luke that since it's nighttime they were all sleeping and that's why they wouldn't talk to him ;)

He walked around him probably 15 times looking at all of his stickers.

Looking glasses for Mater

A pretty cool resort!
