Christmas 2019

Merry Christmas, everyone! We've had a lovely day here in NC. Stayed in comfy clothes all day, cooked an easy lunch, and played with our gifts ALL day. The weather's also been beautiful so it's been the best day.

Yesterday we spent the day with my mom and dad in the morning, opening presents. The afternoon was spent decorating cookies with the Creggers and then last night we went back to my parents to have supper and reading the Christmas story from the Bible. We came home and watched Christmas movies, then set out our cookies for Santa and went to bed.

Somehow, our kids always seem to end up in our bed, even if they start out in theirs (ha!). I woke up at 6:00 this morning and I was shocked our kids were still asleep. I was so excited that I ended up trying to rouse them up! When we finally got out in the living room, we discovered that Santa had left the Nintendo Switch (which he has wanted for MONTHS now), a rare and hard to find dinosaur, a Princess dollhouse for Charlie and a Jessie doll (which she has also been asking for months.) We then got down to business to opening gifts. I felt like we didn't have that much, but we totally did.  Too much probably. But I also understand that we're at the magical ages right now and I'm just throwing caution to the wind. Maybe I am spoiling our kids, but ask me if I care. The looks on their faces this morning were more than priceless and they have both thanked us multiple times today for everything they received. It's been a good, no great, day. It is a lot of work to get all this stuff done, but I always feel like it's been worth it, at least on Christmas day afternoon. HA!

Dillon and I have the rest of the week off with the kids which is nice. I think we'll try to get the house in order and just enjoy not being at work. Next week will be a harsh awakening, but I'm not thinking about that now.

Merry Christmas! <3

Bedtime!

Aftermath.

This year we went in a different direction and did a low country boil. It was DELICIOUS and easy to clean. New tradition.

Watching Christmas videos from the morning :)
