Santa Clause and VA Christmas!

December has continued its tradition of being super crazy busy. We've had a good time though and are counting down the hours until Santa Clause arrives (a little more than 24 hours!)

A few weekends ago we went to see Santa. Turns out he WAS at the Grove Arcade, just for one afternoon this month so we went down to see him. Lucas has caught on that these are only Santa's "helpers" as the real Santa is at the North Pole getting ready for the big day. He does understand that they relay the messages to Santa to let them know what he wants. :)

We also celebrated Charlie's actual 3rd birthday with chocolate cake and the opening of one Christmas present (for both kids. ha!) We had a good day with good weather, which is unusual because it usually snows on her birthday.

This past weekend we traveled to Virginia to do Christmas with Dillon's family. We were lucky that Kenzie and her family were able to come down too. Baby Bodhi was in the hospital this time last week and it was up in the air that they would be able to come, but he was released just in time and we were able to spend a few days together. It was so nice to spend time with everyone and we all enjoyed being together. Bodhi still faces some uphill health battles, but I know his mama and daddy are determined to help him get the best care. Even though he's faced lots of things in his short life, he's one of the happiest babies I've seen. He only cries when he's hungry. Otherwise, he's laughing and he absolutely loves his mommy. He searches until he finds her face and then he's transfixed and smiling when he sees her. We were so thankful to spend time with him this weekend. Although, did you know, lots of kids in one place is super loud? HA!

We're gearing up for Christmas here. I'm going to make some gingerbread dough this evening and we'll be opening gifts with my mom and dad tomorrow. I have lots of stuff to do and I think I need to make a timeline. Probably should have done that before now.

We've also decided to take a trip on Luke's spring break so that's something to look forward to during our cold, dreary months after Christmas. Only 4 more months! HA!

See ya Christmas Day!
