Christmas 2018

I would be lying if I didn't say that I'm a little bit more than relieved that this day is almost over. This past week has been a whirlwind, culminating with today, but it was oh so good and now we can relax.

Sunday we all woke up sick so we stayed home most of the day.  Sunday evening, our friends the Creggers came over and we decorated cookies for Santa and just spent some time relaxing which was nice. Josie announced when she came in that these cookies were ONLY for Santa and then she proceeded to eat 3. HA! Kids are so awesome.

Yesterday we were going to go down to my mom and dad's house to open gifts after Charlie had her nap, then do a Christmas Eve service at their church. Luke was so durn excited though that we were at their house by 8:30 AM ready to open gifts. We received some pretty awesome gifts, stayed until lunch then came home and let Charlie nap and got some of our toys out. After her nap, we got dressed and went down to have dinner and go to church. We were home by 6:30 and got cookies ready for Santa Charlie went to bed and Luke went to bed about an hour later. He went to bed super easy, too, which is weird, because I always had a hard time falling asleep on Christmas Eve. Anyways... I had set my alarm to get up this morning to get food in the oven, so when I got up to get ready, Luke heard me and was jazzed. We started off with our stockings and then proceeded downstairs to see what Santa had brought. If you want to see our entire Christmas present opening experience, you can watch it below. ha!

After presents, I fixed lunch and my mom and dad came up and stayed for much of the day. We had a really great time together and I thought my food was pretty good! Our house still looks like a war zone, but I guess that's all part of the game. Our kids got way too much, but it's been fun so I'm ok with it.

I have the rest of the week off with the kids so I'm hoping they have enough toys to keep themselves entertained. HA! It's been a good day and I'm looking forward to relaxing the next few days!
